Hi! We're a group of people who are interested in Japanese culture as well as Japanese people who want to make friends with people from this multi-cultural area. We are a group of friends in 20's to 40's.

  About
The Japan Exchange Society was founded in 2004 in order to bring together native Japanese people and others interested in Japanese language and culture. Through shared experiences, members learn to understand and appreciate each other to build lasting friendships.

  Meetings and Activities
The Japan Exchange Society meets in Cupertino and San Mateo several times each month. In addition, we organize events for members to socialize and have fun. Past events include bowling, hiking, laser tag, beach bonfires, sake tasting, sporting events, and many more!

  How to join
Attend a regularly scheduled meeting and sign up!

  Regular Casual Meetings
We have social meetings twice a month in Cupertino and twice a month in San Mateo. We get together and socialize with each other. This is a casual setup without an agenda. You're welcome to stop by!

  Discussion Sessions
We also have discussion sessions with pre-selected topics. The discussion session has an agenda. It helps us to understand similarilies and differences of the two major cultures. Please come to the regular meetings to find out about this.
