2006 MacWorld at San Francisco

I went to MacWorld held currently in San Francisco. I have see many booths selling accessories for the iPod product line. I guess the iPods and Macs are getting popular in Korea and China or Taiwan because I saw some reporters from Korean and China or Taiwan.

The most interesting release is the MacBook Pro with a Intel chip.

The CPU speed seems a lot faster than the PowerPC. This model doesn't support double-layer DVD writing. It doesn't have an internal modem and a Sudden Motion sensor. I am guessing that the double-core CPU chip takes up more space than the PowerPC CPU, so they had to remove these features.

The big banner says "What's an Intel chip doing in a Mac? A whole lot more than it's ever done in a PC."

There are a bunch of the new MacBook Pro on the left of the wall, and a bunch of the new iMac on the right. Both run the Intel chip.

The brainwash sentence is on the huge wall...

Here is the same sentence.

There was a presentation going on. Is this iWeb?

There are many booths carrying iPod accessories. They have become a fashion style.

The iPod Shuffle around her left arm has blue lights flashing. The lights sync with the rhythm of the music playing. It becomes a regular flash light also. It could help to find a keyhole in the dark night. It also helps drivers easily see you as you are jogging in the evening.

These head phones are wireless with Bluetooth. The battery is said to last for 6 and half hours.

This half-size keyboard lets us type all the keys on the regular keyboard using only the left hand. I guess it's for people who can't let coffee go. ( http://www.matias.ca/halfkeyboard )

This iPod Shuffle case is very sturdy. The two parts close with magnets. I saw cases for other iPod models.

Oh, Lego! They are harddisks. ( http://www.lacie.com/ )

There are nice looking i-dolls lined up on the stage.

Google Earth was being demoed on this big screen although the booth was not Google. I asked them to pin point Osaka, Japan by query. We got to somewhere in Nagano...

These cute Mini G5s....not! They are harddisks.

This harddisk goes with the Mac Mini.

And the name is miniD.

They go well with like this.

The game corner was kind huge.

I wonder if these vinyl covers deform with some heat from the machine. The colors are really nice.

She was friendly and nice. Eh? What about the bags? They are made of nylon and... I can't remember much. LOL. She said they have a show on Thursday. I asked if there will be many ladies like her in this costume will be on the show. Not!

These are cool and useful aliens. We can wrap the ear-phone code around it. The company is located in Tokyo.

I was resting.

These speakers with a sub look funny, but nice. I was told they also have this in black. They said they are getting lots of orders from Japan. Yeah, I guess they would even like it with a transparent case or some cool flashing lights. The under panel has a few blue lights. ( http://www.raindesigninc.com/ )

They also make this, which allows us to easily turn the monitor to 360 degree.

The black device with red buttons runs Linux and connects some MP3 players like an iPod and a ZEN. It also connects to a PSP. It has a high-speed Wifi network feature, which is supposed to let us download some MP3 files. We can also review some pictures.

This is for people who spend a long time in the bathroom.

This tiny booth is Google's booth. No one from the company was there. One Mac was there running Google Earth for us to play.

Let's mark our calendar for the next year's MacWorld!
