Mac OS X!

This is one of the old entries. I got a request to repost this. Pretend it is April 29th.
I stopped by at the Apple store in Palo Alto to check out the release of the new Mac OS X 10.4, called Tiger

By the time I arrived there at around 5:30pm, there was a line about 40 people or so waiting for the release of Tiger at 6pm. I asked the guy at the beginning of the line what time he got there. He said it was about 3:15pm. Okay, I wasn't surprised. It is not like the opening of the Apple store in San Francisco.

At around 6pm, I heard some applause around the conner from the store entrance. The line started moving.

They were handing out black scratch-off cards with the X log on. I got one and noticed there was a gray box to scratch off to win a prize. As I didn't hope for anything, I scratched it off and got one song from the iTunes Music Store. That wasn't much. My friend got a 10% discount prize for the total purchase for that day only. I though he was going to get a G5 with dual processors, but didn't.

In addition to the three Mac computers, they hooked up two G4 PowerBooks at the register.

On the way out, there was still a line.
