Tanzaku Wishes

At the Tanabata party sometime ago, we wrote wishes on tanzaku paper, and hang them on a bamboo tree.
There were varieties of wishes.... "More Hakkaisan!"

San Francisco LGBT Pride Parade

I went to San Francisco today and saw a lot of rainbow flags.
I realized there would be the LGBT Pride Parade at the end of this month.

Hinaningyo

There is a Japanese style gardens place in Saratoga, called Hakone Gardens. I saw Japanese hinaningyo set up when I visited there. March 3rd is Hinamatsuri, Girls' Day. Check out Wikipedia.

Sumo match

It's been a while since the last entry. I was away for a while. Oh, no, I wasn't in prison.

I watched some Sumo matches this Spring in Cupertino. Sumo is a popular thing to watch among foreigners in Japan. I grew up as I watched it. Let's see how it is getting popular in the US.
