Riot on University Ave.?!

I first thought so for a moment...
A few blocks of the street were blocked. No was allowed to walk in; let alone drive in. Burnt down stuff was on the street here and there...

Guess what I received from my dentists?!

I referred a friend to my dentists, and received a Baskin Robbins $2.00 certificate.
I was like what?!
Well, I haven't seen my dentists for a while because I haven't had any cavity.
Do they wish I will get a cavity soon?!

I just need to brush my teeth after eating ice cream. :)
This certificate is cool.

Flattened out gyoza

A new Japanese ramen restaurant was opened nearby and I went there to try their ramen.
Actually I have been there a few times already. Their miso ramen and shio ramen are good.
But I was a little amused by their gyoza. It's like gyoza was smashed by a wood board, or rammed down by a fist.
The taste? It was weird to me...

A view from the top.

eNoodle

It's been kind of popular to name a business entity or type of business starting with a "e".
I saw this Chinese noodle place called "eNoodle". What the heck is that?! I had a chance to walk in there and have their e-noodle. It was just regular noodle, but the taste was good.

Sandal Stake

BJ's, a beer brewery restaurant in Cupertino, has a sandal stake on their menu. It's not called sandal steak, of course, but it actually looks like a zouri. If we put a couple of strings on, it'd become a zouri!

Packaging

This is a common usual way to package products that are sold here. It takes time and effort to get the product out of it. The plastic is so thick that cutting with scissors needs effort and sometimes hurts my hand. People just don't pay attention to it and make it better... it's been like this for years!

Watching pro-wrestling matches in a Mexican restaurant

I've found a really good Mexican restaurant nearby. Their Menudo is the best so far!
They have a TV set, and it often shows pro-wrestling matches and soccer games. Pro-wrestling matches are so entertaining. Contenders wearing colorful costumes jump around and fall around.

Melon Soda

If you put some vanilla ice cream on top of this, it's called Cream Soda in Japan. Is it called Float in the US?

The color is so artificial, and it looks so unhealthy. I didn't think Japan had this kind of drinks, but they do.
Here is my post about American candies.
Does green increase appetite?

Give me a shot of Sencha!

I found this drink at the Family Mart store in Pasadena when I drove down to Southern California last month.
It contains 152 mg of catechin. I don't what that is good for. Of course, I could look it up on Wikipedia.

Excuse me? Is this Sushi?!

I found these "Sushi" rolls at the nearby Safeway store sometime ago. The label states "SUSHI SUMMER ROLL". Are these Sushi? No matter how I looked at it, it looked like the Spring Rolls that I sometimes order in my favorite Vietnam restaurants.

I wonder if any rolls are called Sushi. If that's the case, wouldn't Mexican Burrito be called GIANT AUTUMN SUSHI ROLL?

Clean Air Vehicle sticker

If your vehicle can do better than some gas milage, you will get this sticker on your car and be allowed to drive in the carpool lane even you're by yourself. But "CLEAN AIR" is not true.

Hybird cars use gasoline and produces exhaust gas. The millage is only a little better than Civics and Corollas.
What to do with the huge batteries after they are done?!

Burger King, small coke...

I went to a Burger King within a week after having come back to the US. I didn't plan to go there. I was driving my car early in the morning, and saw a Burger King on my right. A few moments later, I found myself parking my car in their parking lots. I guess I was wanting something that could let me feel I am in the US. I hadn't been to a Burger King for several years. It would be one of the last places to go for something to fill my stomach.

The small size Coke looks like a large size Coke you'd get in Japan.

I am going to be used to this again. The size of their burgers seems smaller than what they had more than ten years ago.

appetite-losing name for a Sushi restaurant

If you have exposed to a good amount of Japanese culture in Japan, you know the majority of Japanese people don't want to go to a Sushi restaurant with this kind of name with expectation of good quality sushi. Oh, this is only my opinion. (If you like this place, that's good.) Do they want to say SUSHI LoveR or Love youR SUSHI?
If someone buys me a lunch, I may try.

He was the CEO of Livedoor in Japan. Hey, the title of the book is New Capitalism in Horiemon's style. I wonder what it is, but he shouldn't have broken the laws...

In January or February, some 400,000 signed up people are space-traveling to Pluto...not! Their names are going there after over 9 year trip. The sign-up was over, and now we can search whose names are going here. Of course, scientists like Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton are on the list. Honda kicked Toyota out of the race

The Toyota F-1 team is better than the Honda F-1 team this year. I guess Honda has much more experience in F-1, and they are so much aiming to be No. 1 again. (They were the best in the late 80's to early 90's with McLaren.) Then, Toyota joined F-1 a few years ago and already surpassed Honda. I guess Honda is so pissed off. They even pushed the Toyota car out of the race at the Suzuka Grand Prix.

Well, it was just an incident.
